I didn’t think I had much to do on my Brute Force today so I decided to install the Tamarack Boom-It atv box loaded with a radio and speakers. Well three o’clock rolled around and the UPS man dropped off my HMF exhaust kit.
The Tamarack box was really easy to install the radio came already prewired so all you had to do was connect a ground and a hot wire and you where rocking out.
I wanted a clean install so I drilled a hole under the box to feed the wire for the tunes. The wire ran under my seat and plugged into the accessories fuse box. I connected the ground by the shifter where a couple other wires where grounded at.
Then I set all my presets and went around the parking lot listening to the tunes play.
Here is my swamp series HMF exhaust kit. It is kind of a slip on kit, however the stock pipe has one tube welded on the muffler that runs all the way up to the head of the rear cylinder. So that pipe is included in the kit but you have to reuse the front cylinders pipe. I was not to excited about that because my stock pipes where roached and covered in mud that has been baked on the pipe.
You can see in the above photo how bad the pipe looks. I decided to remove the pipe and put a little work into making it look good again. I grabbed a can of WD40 and sprayed the pipe down. After letting it soak for a couple minutes I used a steal wool pad and cleaned the pipe up.
check out the photo above, the pipe came out better then I thought it would.
The pipe install was really simple, jetting is what I’m worried about. I will have to wait and find out in the morning if she needs to be jetted or not.
